Le manoir aux statues or L'Ermitage des Cascatelles is a villa situated along the river Maas, lost on the edge of a forest, hidden by the vegetation. It was built in 1819. It used to be a flour mill before becoming an oil mill. I don’t know many more of the history of this manoir, but I’ve read that the last owner was a real estate agent and said to the neighbours that he was leaving to construct a building in Brasilia. The inside of the place is a real mess now, as many people visit it or go and have fun around destroying. It is/was a very beautiful place, in the meantime the decay, the damages and the mess is sadly everywhere. A lot of things disappeared compared to the images I had of the house before my visit. No more staues left… (march 2017)
